Ghana Football Association [GFA] president, Kurt Okraku has implored Ghanaians to end the negativity following the Black Stars squad announcement ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Otto Addo has named a final 26-man squad on Monday for the tournament that has been slated to kick off from November 20 to December 18.

The likes of in-form Joseph Paintsil, Jeffrey Schlupp, Ransford-Yeboah konigsdorffer  and Majeed Ashimeru were also not included.

“This is the Black Stars and only 26 players had the opportunity to be called. Let us support the team and the technical team. As I have said, only 26 players will have to be in Qatar and not 26 million players,” Okraku said.

“All the negativity around the Black Stars team must stop. Let’s be positive. Let’s rally around the flag and let’s make our dear nation great and strong," he added.

Black Stars have opened camp in Abu Dhabi, where they will play their final pre-tournament friendly against Switzerland on Thursday, November 17.

Ghana, who are making their fourth appearance at the Mundial will open its campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Ghana will wrap up its group stage adventure with its much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Doha on November 19.

The 22nd edition of the tournament has been scheduled to kick off from November 20 to December 18.
