World Cup 2022: The players should follow Otto Addo's instructions - coach Kobina Amissah

Published on: 24 November 2022

Kobina Amissah, head coach of Nations FC has stated that the Black Stars players should follow the instructions of coach Otto Addo ahead of Ghana's first group game against Portugal.

He also added that the psychologist should work on the players who are yet to play in a major tournament. Andre Ayew and his brother Jordan Ayew are the only two players in the squad who have major tournament experience.

Some pundits think Black Stars will suffer from inexperience during the campaign in Qatar.

The team completed their final training session ahead of the clash yesterday morning. The game against Portugal will take place at the Stadium 974.

President Akufo-Addo paid a visit to the players at the Black Stars team hotel. He spoke to the technical team, Ghana Football Association officials and encouraged the players.

"That is why there is a psychologist in camp this is the duty of the psychologist to let them know why they are there. Like the FA's slogan says obiara ny3 obiara when it gets to this stage what the coach has taught you that is what you have to look at and play," he said on Peace FM as monitored by footballghana.com

"If it wasn't so Japan would not have beaten Germany, and Saudi Arabia too would not have beaten Argentina with almighty Messi in their midst. It tells you that playing football with name is no more people are learning to the extent that opponents can see the football you are coming to play and by the end of the 90 minutes can read the game that is were football is now. So if they meet such players it is our duty to tell them that you are also somebody,"
