Tunisia head coach Jalel Kadri has praised fans for the special atmosphere created as they drew goalless with Denmark in their 2022 World Cup opener on Tuesday.

Both sides had goals ruled out for offside at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, while Denmark's Andreas Cornelius somehow missed from a yard.

There was 95th-minute drama when referee Cesar Ramos checked the pitchside monitor over a potential Denmark penalty for handball, only to stick with his original decision.

Tunisia held on to seal a point and boost their chances of qualifying from the group.

"The fan factor was very positive for us. It mentally gave us a great lift and we are looking forward to seeing the fans continue to do that for us," Kadri said after the game.

"It really helped us in the game, but tactically and physically we did well too."

Tunisia will take on Australia on Saturday before they playing defending champions France on November 30 in bid to qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup for the first time at the sixth attempt.
