Uruguay coach Diego Alonso has heaped praise on the South Korean national team ahead of their clash with Ghana in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The two-time World Cup winners played a pulsating 0-0 draw against the Asian outfit in the opening Group H clash on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars suffered a 3-2 defeat against Portugal and are currently bottom of the table in Group H after day one games.

The Uruguay trainer speaking after his side goalless drawn game against South Korea said, “Korea was very good, so we had difficulty stealing the ball.”

The 2016 European Champions currently sit top of Group H with three points.

Meanwhile, the defeat means Ghana are bottom of Group H after Uruguay and South Korea played out a goalless draw earlier on Thursday.

The Black Stars will now turn their attention to their upcoming matches against South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2, respectively.
