Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani pushed over the VAR Screen while walking off the pitch after his side's 2-0 win over Ghana at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at the Al Janoub Stadium.

The 35-year-old climbed off the bench in the 65th minutes to replace Luis Suarez but could not help his side secure a third goal to progress to the round of 16 of the tournament.

Cavani was one of a number of Uruguay players to surround the referee after the match.

The Uruguayan players felt aggrieved after not being awarded a penalty for a collision between Darwin Nunez and Alidu Seidu and a flurry of bookings were shown by Daniel Siebert after the match.

Almost the entire 26-man Uruguay squad chased the referee and his assistants from the pitch and down the tunnel.

Both Cavani and Jose Maria Gimenez were booked for their protests, with one of Siebert's assistant referees manhandled in the melee.

Ghana skipper Andre Ayew missed a penalty in the 21st minute as his kick was saved by Uruguay goalkeeper Sergio Rochet following a foul on Mohammed Kudus.

Uruguay went on to win the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Giorgio de Arrascaeta in the 26th and 32nd minutes of the game but it was not enough as teams went out of the tournament.
