President of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Kurt Okraku has called on Ghanaians to support Otto Addo and the rest of the technical team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Ghana wrapped up their preparations with a 2-0 win against Switzerland in a friendly on Thursday in Abu Dhabi.

The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Qatar for the tournament later today.

With Ghana set to open their campaign against Portugal on Thursday, November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha, Mr. Okraku has called for support for the technical team.

“We have absolute confidence in our technical team led by Otto Addo. They’ve been working hard to put a squad that is truly Ghanaian together,” he said.

“We have to give this technical team respect, we have to give them support and we have to pray for them because it’s not been an easy road,” he added.

The 22nd edition of the Mundial gets underway on Sunday.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

Ghana will wrap up their group stage adventure with their much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Black Stars having missed out in the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018 will be hoping to improve their performance in Qatar after exiting at the group phase during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
