World Cup 2022: We want revenge against Uruguay - Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus

Ghana forward, Mohammed Kudus says the Black Stars will aim for revenge against Uruguay.

The West African side will take on the two-time world champions in their final Group H game on Friday.

Ghana were on the verge of playing in the semifinal of the 2010 Mundial in South Africa but Luis Suarez prevented Dominic Adiyah's goal-bound header.

Asamoah Gyan failed to convert a spot kick awarded before the South American side kicked Ghana out, winning 4-2 on spot kicks after 120 minutes of action.

And Kudus, speaking in an interview said Gyan is not part of the team but they will fight to seek revenge on Friday.

"Even though he is no longer part of the team, we will also play for him against Uruguay," Kudus told Algemeen Dagblad.

"Asamoah is a legend. I've seen interviews where he is still disappointed. Just recently. That gives me and my teammates energy to really play for him and fight for sporting revenge," he added.

The game will kick off at 15:00GMT at the Al Januob Stadium.
