President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo, is optimistic about the future of Chris Hughton’s young Black Stars squad.

Going into the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the youngster team, the veteran journalist believes the Black Stars can achieve a lot when this team is kept together for the considerable future.

Ghana has not an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title since 1982, with next year being 42 years since the Black Stars last lifted an AFCON title.

With Ghana a draw away from qualifying for the tournament in Ivory Coast, Fianoo sees the future very bright.

“I see the future being bright for the Black Stars looking at the ages of the players. We went into the World Cup as the youngest squad,” he said at the sidelines of an event attended by footballghana.com.

“So if we still have a core of those players playing in the Black Stars, why not. I expect a brighter future for the Black Stars.”
