Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane hasdefended his side and the actions of match officials, afterBarcelona's Gerard Piqueclaimedthat Los Blancos benefit from refereeing decisions.

Following Real's controversial penalty against Villarreal, last weekend, the 30-year-old defender tweeted that Real have garnered eight extra points so far this season from incorrect decisions by referees.

Madrid were trailing 2-1 when they were awarded the spot kick, and after converting the penalty, Zidane's men came back to win 3-2.

The decision to penalise Bruno Soriano's dubious handball led to an angry reaction from Villarreal club president Fernando Roig.

The win ensured Real stayed top of La Liga ahead of their clash against Las Palmas on Wednesday night.

Ahead of the game with Las Palmas, Zidane moved to deny that his side are the benefactors ofquestionable decisionsfrom the match officials.

As quoted bythe Daily Mail, Zidane said,"Everyone can say what they want but it is not true, we've got everything we have achieved from what we have done on the pitch.

"I'm proud of my players because they always respect referees, Real Madrid has always been professional and respectful. If we have to talk, we do it on the pitch," he added.

Real are expected to name a full strength side for the game against Las Palmas.

The side from the Spanish capital enjoyed an unbeaten start to the La Liga season before losing to Sevilla and Valencia come the turnof the year.

A win for Real could see them move four points clear of second placed Barcelona, with a game in hand on their old rivals.
