Albert Adomah reckons he is not thinking about Premier League promotion next

Ghana winger Albert Adomah says he isn’t thinking about next season yet as he is fully focused on ensuring that his side Aston Villa conclude the current campaign in positive fashion.

Villa are in 12th place in the Championship – thus will not be securing an immediate return to the Premier League – as the outcome of their final three fixtures won’t have much bearing on the outcome of their season.

However, Adomah is determined for the Villa Park outfit to win their remaining games, especially Sunday’s derby fixture at home to Birmingham City.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Adomah said: “I know that fans are already asking questions like ‘Can next season be a special season? Can Villa achieve promotion next season?’

“I’m not thinking about that right now. We’ve still got three games to go and as a professional footballer, it’s up to me and my team-mates to show total focus on the remaining games.

“We want to finish this season strongly. We won’t take our foot off the gas.

“We have three games to go – an important derby match against Birmingham City, which I’m looking forward to and I’m sure the fans are looking forward to also.

Adomah has made a significant impact for Villa this season, creating 42 chances and providing ten assists in the Championship.
