Andre Ayew declares himself fit to make his second Swansea City debut against Burnley this weekend

Ghana international Andre Dede Ayew has declared himself fit and ready to make his second debut with Swansea City this weekend.

The forward rejoined the Swans on transfer-deadline day in a club-record deal.

He had been struggling with a hamstring injury in his last couple of weeks at West Ham, but returned to full training at the start of this week.

Ayew scored 12 goals in 35 appearances during his first stint at Swansea in 2015-16.

And with the Swans looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games on Saturday, Ayew hopes he can play a part.

“I have had a full week of training and feel ready but we will have to see – it will be up to the boss,” he said.

“I am excited to have this second opportunity with Swansea. I am 28 and still have a lot to give.

“The team have put together a great run in the last few weeks and I hope to help build on that with the games we have in the coming weeks.”

Ayew will come into a side who are enjoying what is comfortably their best run of the season.

The Swans have lost just once in 10 games in all competitions, but still have plenty of work to do if they are to remain in the Premier League.

“You are always under pressure in life, but we have a great club with great fans,” Ayew added.

“There are a lot of people behind our team. I am confident, but we must not be afraid to take challenges.

“We want to stay in the Premier League and as a team, we are going to do everything to make sure we achieve that.”
