Atletico Madrid are set to run out of time to close a deal for Chelsea rebel Diego Costa.
Marca says Atletico are still working on the arrival of Costa, although the deal is unlikely to be completed before the transfer window's deadline.
The FIFA-imposed sanction prevents the Rojiblancos from registering new players into their squad until January 1.
For that reason, they could maintain an open dialogue with Chelsea over the striker's transfer even after the window officially closes as there is still no agreement between all of the parties.
Each party has made their position clear but the main problem now is the striker's attitude and his refusal to report back to London from Brazil.
