The future is bright for the Black Maidens – Head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa

The head coach of Ghana’s U17 women’s national team, Joe Nana Adarkwa, believes the future is bright for Ghana’s Black Maidens.

The Ampem Darkwa Ladies boss said this after he started his player selection for four batches of selected players to prepare for their next assignments.

It is unknown what assignments the team is preparing for at the moment because the team is currently under a ban.

Speaking after the exercise, Adarkwa said, “You can see that we have potentials, so the future is bright for Maidens.

“We are going to get very good players so that Maidens will come and we will be at the top where Maidens is all the time.

“What we are expecting now is very good players and now from the beginning we know that we are going to achieve our aim.”

The Black Maidens have been banned in July 2022 from competing in the next two editions of the FIFA U17 Women's African Qualifiers for age cheating.

The Ghana Football Association [GFA] has also been fined $100,000 by the Confederation of African Football.
