Barcelona Defender Gerard Pique Makes Hilarious Prediction After Stunning PSG Comeback

Published on: 08 March 2017

Barcelonadefender Gerard Pique made ahumorousprediction to say the least in the wake of his side's incredible Champions League last-16 comeback against PSG.

The Spaniard was part of a team that was surely down and out after the 4-0 drubbing at the Parc Des Princes in the first-leg but miraculously, the Catalan club were able to overturn the deficit and win the second-leg 6-1 thanks to a 94th minute winner from substituteSergi Roberto.

It is already being hailed as the greatest sporting comeback of all time, and it would seem Pique was arguablystill caught up in it all after claiming that hospitals would need to prepare themselves for the consequences of the historic game.

Speaking shortly after the madness, the 30-year-oldquipped: "Hospitals need to hire more nurses in the next nine months because tonight a lot of lovemaking will be happening!"

His remark definitely made an amusing change fromsomeinterviews given by his teammates and manager, which generally went along the lines ofthe team having great team spirit and a never-say-die attitude.

The result meant that Barca progressed through to the quarter-finals of the competition against all odds, and they are now on course for another treble under the departing Luis Enrique - which would be his second in three years.

Lionel Messi and co are currently top of La Liga by one point but have played a game more than rivalsReal Madrid, and they face Deportivo Alaves in the final of the Copa del Rey final in May, where they will be overwhelming favourites.
