Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp insists the club will continue with its pursuit of Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah.
The Ghanaian has been the prime target of the Championship side since Harry Redknapp took over in the summer.
The Blue birds are also interested in Nigerian international Ogneyi Onazi but according to reports the offer for the player failed.
Reports of an €8m bid from Birmingham for Acquah but talks have slowed.
''He has always been one we’ve been after, we’ve not suddenly gone from Onazi to Acquah, we were always on Acquah anyway,'' he told the Birmingham Mail.
