BIZARRE: Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong welcomes prospect of playing in war-torn Afghanistan

Journeyman Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong says he will welcome the chance to play in war-torn country Afghanistan.

The fiery 25-year-old says he is now ready to play anywhere after joining Swedish side AFC Eskilstuna on the back of stints in racist Russia.

Frimpong, tipped by many for greatness in the early stages of his career with English giants Arsenal, joined Tula from FK Ufa in 2016 where he failed to explode.

Frimpong endured a torrid spell at the Russian club, making just three appearances with only one start.

But after making the switch to the Swedish Allsvenskan with Eskilstuna, he says he is ready to ply his trade anywhere on the globe.

"I really like it here in the AFC, but if the opportunity shows up in the future for me to go to, say, Afghanistan, then I go to Afghanistan." he told fotbollskanalen.

Frimpong has previously played for English clubs Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and Sheffield FC in what has been a colourful career so far.
