Ghana's female U20 team failed to recorded their first victory at this year's FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Papua New Guinea on Thursday.

The Black Princesses had to settle for a 2-2 draw with France in their second group game at the PNG Football Stadium. France opened scoring in the 30th minute through striker Cascarino.

Ghana after pressing so hard for the equaliser finally got it in the 43rd minute through midfielder Sandra Owusu Ansah.

Ghana started the second half the better team- they showed clear intent of getting a win.

In the 65th minute striker Jane Ayieyam capitalised on a defensive blunder to put Ghana ahead.

Ghana had a chance to finish the game in the 81st minute when a penalty was awarded after Princella Adubea was fouled. Samira Abdul Rahman stepped up and failed to score.

Just when Ghana were cruising to victory, France equalised with a fine header from Mateo in the 94th minute.

What this means is Ghana must push for a win in their last group game and hope results in the game involving France and New Zealand will go their favour.
