Coach Yusif Abubakar happy to prove critics wrong after eliminating Al Tahaddy

Head Coach of Aduana Stars Yussif Abubakar insists the criticisms from football pundits motivated his side to up their performance in the game against Al Tahaddy. 

The Ghana Premier League Champions defeated the Libyan side 2-0 in Dormaa, to record a 2-1 aggregate scoreline.

Elvis Opoku and Dereck Sasraku scored for the home side as they reach the second round of the Champions League, where they will face ES Setif of Algeria.

After the game Coach Yussif Abubakar was happy to have proven his critics wrong.

"Those whose criticized us gave us the hope to work and prove people wrong because those criticisms were positive ones that we had to prove we can do that, we are thankful for that," he said after the game.

Meanwhile, Abubakar adds after going into the recces without a goal, he had to be be hard on his players to force the best out of them.

"At the break, I did not teach them any tactical play, I was hard on them, given them hard talk of which they could have lost their temper and I was hard on them and they were able to psyche themselves up for the second half," he added.

Aduana Stars have set a target of reaching the money zone of the competition , but will have to cross the next hurdle, which are Algerian side ES Setif.
