Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says he's not spoken to Andrea Pirlo since his retirement announcement.
The former Juventus star has been linked with a coaching job at Chelsea.
Conte said today: "I knew that Andrea Pirlo decided to retire and finish his career in New York.
"I can talk about his career in the best way, but at this moment he doesn't know what to do when he finishes his career."
Of his own situation, Conte added: "When a coach starts at a club they hope to stay for a long time and to try to build something important for the club. But our job is very difficult now, our job is very strange. One day you are the best, another day you have to stay at your home!"
