Division One Clubs plead with GN bank not to withdraw league sponsorship

Some Division One League clubs are pleading with GN Bank, sponsors of the lower division league not to withdraw their sponsorship.

Owner of GN Bank, Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom has directed the bank to withdraw their sponsorship from the league following the recent crowd violence at match centers.

Last Saturday coach of Elmina Sharks - Kobina Amissah was mercilessly beaten up by opposition fans after his side had beaten Proud United whose irate fans went on a rampage at the final whistle at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi.

Elmina Sharks is owned by Papa Kwesi Nduom whose bank GN Bank sponsors the Division One League.

The politician has been infuriated by that barbaric act which seems to be happening week in week out. He has then ordered management of the bank to suspend their sponsorship for the second-tier.

But some of the clubs have promised to be of good behaviour going forward and want Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom to rescind his decision.
