Accra Hearts of Oak defender Fatau Mohammed has confirmed contract extension talks with the club.

The right back has indicated he is ready to stay at the club and would only move if a right offer from abroad comes in.

Mohammed’s contract with the Phobians expired at the end of the season but the player says he is ready to stay at the club despite the club’s interest in Medeama’s Amos Korankye.

The player who was speaking on Kumasi based radio station Nhyira FM revealed the club has already table a GHC 25000 deal for him but he wants a better deal from the Accra based club.

“It is either i travel abroad or it is Hearts of Oak, it is not true i travel to Saudi Arabia i’m in Tamale doing personal things and negotiating for contract renewal,” he told Nhyira FM.

“Hearts of Oak has offered me an amount and i have asked them to top it because it is Hearts of Oak i will play if i don’t travel abroad. I don’t see why i should play other team locally.”

He continued, “At worst i will close my eyes and die for Hearts of Oak but you know the economic conditions in Ghana now so i have asked them to do something about the GHC 25,000.”

Fatau Mohammed was a constant figure in Coach Frank Nuttal side last season and earned a number of Black Stars B call ups.
