Ghana Football Association President, Kwesi Nyantakyi insists his outfit is relieved after an Accra High Court threw out Accra Great Olympics'case against the Association, following an injunction that was placed on the start of the local league.

The Ghana Premier League which was billed to begin on February 9th, had to be postponed indefinitely following an injunction placed on the topflight by Olympics.

However, on Wednesday, February 21st an Accra High Court dismissed the case and the Football Association hurriedly held an Ordinary Congress to set a new date for the commencement of the local league.

With 3rd March set for the start of the season, President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi, stated it was relief for his outfit.

"We are eager to see the league start, we are paying out players, we are incurring cost so it is a big relief for us," he said after the Ordinary Congress of the Football Association.

Meanwhile, there were questions over the quick assemble of the Ordinary congress. Mr. Nyantakyi stated majority called for the Ordinary Congress and so it was a democratic process that was followed.

"There is no controversies, there was just one issue, which was about notice, adequacy or otherwise of the notice of the Congress and majority of the people, an overwhelming majority decided that we should do the congress," he added.

"It was 80 for and 11 against, so it was not a close contest in terms of opinion. This is a very democratic Association, we carry divergent opinion, we dont have to agree on the same issue all the time," he concluded.

The new Premier League season will be launched on Monday, February 26th.
