Owner and bankroller of Elmina Sharks, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom is grateful that no casualties were recorded following a rainstorm that ripped apart the roof of the club’s stadium on Sunday.

Fortunately, the collapse came in the aftermath of Elmina Sharks’ Ghana Premier League week 11 clash with WAFA SC putting the quality of the newly constructed stadium in doubt.

Dr. Nduom  took to his Facebook timeline to show how relieved he was to learn that no player or fan got injured.

“The safety of the people remains our guiding principle.”

Dr. Nduom wrote on his timeline: “Thanks to God! I am just thankful, the strong rainstorm that blew the roof off our stadium in Elmina happened after the Sharks match with WAFA FC.

“The fans and players had left to go home. There are no injuries to report. We are lucky for and I am grateful for that. Technical people have been assembled to determine why the roof and all the trusses could be blown away like that.

“We will ensure that end up with the best solution. The safety of the people remains our guiding principle.”

Elmina Sharks lost 2-1 at home to league leaders WAFA on Sunday.
