Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has given an update to the fans about the fitness of Islam Slimani, who has still not appeared for the club.
Slimani was signed on loan in the January transfer window from Leicester, but he is still to regain enough fitness to start a game.
Now manager Benitez hopes that he will be ready for the next clash against Bournemouth.
"He was fine, but he was still feeling it a little bit," Benitez said to the Shields Gazette.
"It was a case of waiting because we have 15 days now before the next game so we can keep working with him."
