Ronaldo tells Real Madrid coaches: We\'re better without Isco

Published on: 11 December 2017

The tension between Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Isco continues to rise.

A rift between Ronaldo and Isco has been growing since the summer, when the latter learned his senior teammate had lobbied for him to be sold ahead of good friend James Rodriguez.

For his part, Ronaldo knows Isco has also complained to Spanish teammates about the Portuguese, when he was struggling for form earlier this season, was still being selected ahead of younger members of the squad.

Diario Gol says, however, the tide is now turning in Ronaldo's favour, particularly after their rout of Sevilla.

Real produced their best performance of the season, thrashing Sevilla 5-0. Ronaldo scored twice as Marco Asensio started the game ahead of Isco.

Ronaldo has now told coaching staff the display was proof Real are better when Isco is out of the team. The Ballon d'Or has told staff that while Isco is talented individually, his style of game slows their play down and works against them.
