Sellas Tetteh poised to succeed at Black Queens role

New Coach of the Black Queens Sellas Tetteh is confident of leading the female senior team to success following his appointment last week.

The FIFA World Cup winning Coach is optimistic of transforming the fortunes of the team that has always placed second fiddle to Nigeria on the continent.

After he was handed the role of the head Coach at the Black Queens, he said he is ready to work hand in hand with his assistant, Mercy Tagoe, a former player of the national team to bring out the best in the side.

“Football is a universal language. It is the same set of rules and regulations so that should not be a problem," Tetteh told Graphic Sports.

“I think it is more important to have the experience which I do. With regard to my knowing all the players, I frankly admit that I don’t but I think I have a capable assistant who will help very much in that regard. Once we get the players for the roles, we set to work on the technical bit. That is the most important."

Sellas Tetteh has been out of coaching for some time now, despite being the technical director of premier league side Liberty Professionals.

Having led the junior nationals teams of Ghana to success at different divisions he coached the senior national team of Sierra Leone for some years.
