Toys Out of the Pram! PSG Send UEFA Embarrassing Letter of Complaint Following Barcelona Drubbing

Published on: 13 March 2017

Paris Saint-Germain have embarrassingly sent an official letter of complaint to UEFA concerning the officiating in their 6-1 Champions League drubbing against Barcelona.

In a move that utterly defies belief, Sky Sports have reported that the Ligue 1 champions have cried foul about the refereeing decisions in their last-16 second leg encounter at the Nou Camp.

Referee Deniz Aytekin has borne the brunt of PSG's frustrations over his decision to hand Barcelona the controversial penalty that ensured the scores were at level pegging - 5-5 on aggregate - heading into the final few added-on minutes of the contest.

UEFA confirm Paris Saint-Germain have sent them a letter complaining about the refereeing of their 6-1 Champions League defeat at Barcelona

Barcelona notched three goals in the last seven minutes of the tie to defy the odds and become the first team to progress to the next stage of the Champions League knockout phase after a four-goal deficit from a first leg encounter.

PSG's players and families were subjected to abuse from the club's supporters upon their return home from Catalunya, and saw their vehicles vandalised at Bougert airport over their capitulation.

Now, the French outfit have actually sent European football's governing body an extensive letter detailing why they believe the refereeing on the day was not up to the standard required for a match of that magnitude.

PSG certainly won't be the last football club to pen an official letter of complaint about refereeing, but even this is taking the proverbial mickey.

For the attention of PSG's hierarchy, players and staff: you had one job. It's not anyone else's fault that you ballsed it up and conceded three times late on to crash out of the competition.

Maybe next time you'll spend more time defending your lead properly than moaning about a decision that was never going to be changed!
