Asante Kotoko on Sunday afternoon drew 1-1 against FC Nouadhibou at the Stade Cheikha Boidiya Nouakchott in an encounter in the CAF Champions League competition.

The Ghanaian giants are keen on advancing to the group stage of this season’s CAF Champions League as they bid to reclaim lost glory on the continent.

To do that, the team has been drawn against FC Nouadhibou in the preliminary stage of the Champions League and needs to go past the side over two legs.

Featuring against the side in the first of the two legs today in Mauritania, Kotoko had a good start and scored after just 5 minutes of play when striker Osman Ibrahim found the back of the net with a brilliant strike.

Following an improved performance from the home team afterward, the side earned a penalty kick and scored to draw level in the 22nd minute to ensure the first half ended in a draw.

As a result of an evenly-matched encounter in the second half where neither team scored, Asante Kotoko has drawn 1-1 against FC Nouadhibou and will have the advantage in the reverse fixture scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium next week.
