2018 CAF CONFED. CUP: Charles Taylor blasts Kotoko players

Published on: 22 February 2018

Former Asante Kotoko attacking midfielder, Charles Taylor has slammed the players of Kotoko following their exit from the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup.

The FA Cup champions failed to progress to the next round of the competition after losing 6-7 on penalties to CARA Club on Wednesday after 1-1 aggregate.

“The players are not playing for the team but individually because they (players) do not have the team (Kotoko) at heart,” he told Metro FM.

“There is no maturity in the level of play in the players and I think Dr Kyei should sack all the players and bring committed players into the team.

"The current players at Kotoko are not committed and they are only concentrated on the money and promises been promised them.

“There is no seriousness in the players and is about time the management and supporters tell the players their mind," he added.

The Reds exit from this year's competition means this is the third successive time the Ghanaian giant has failed to progress from the preliminary round of the CAF interclub competition.
