Black Stars of Ghana head coach James Kwesi Appiah was left impressed by the attitude his players during the team’s first training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday ahead of their match against Kenya in the final the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

21 players out of 24 players invited turned up for the training with the remaining 3 expected to join the team in camp on Wednesday.

These players include Kwadwo Asamoah, Caleb Ekuban and Daniel Opare who replaced Reading right-back Andy Yiadom after he picked up an injury during his sides league game over the weekend.

The team trained for two hours and going through drills, exercises, passing and later had a short game to test the waters.

Speaking after the training session, Coach Kwasi Appiah was happy with his players' output and believes it will be difficult to name a squad for the game.

“Since they came, everyone is comporting himself and if you look at the training sessions at a point in time I wanted to close because everyone is proving what he can play and in actual fact it makes the work difficult for me but it’s good for the nation,” the 56-year-old said.

"The team will be training today (Wednesday) around 6pm so that we have a feel of the light and then we train on Thursday afternoon and on Friday morning," he added.

The Harambee stars of Kenya are expected to arrive in Accra on Thursday.
