President of the Ghana Football Association [GFA], Kurt Okraku has admitted that he was left disappointed with Black Stars performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] hosted in Cameroon.

The four-time African champions for the first time since 2006 failed to qualify from the group phase of the competition.

Ghana opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Morocco before sharing spoils with Gabon.

However, the team shockingly lost debutants, Comoros 3-2 in their final group game.

The playing body and the managers of the country’s football governing body came under intense pressure for the poor performance exhibited at the competition in Yaoundé,

However, Mr Okraku speaking to GTV Sports Plus in an interview admitted that he was disappointed with the performance the players churned out.

“We had plan but I was disappointed in the performance of the players because this is what we expected from them,” he said.

“We as an FA and the entire country believed in them but the performance was disappointing. I was expecting we go far but exiting at the group stages is something unacceptable,” he added.
