Nicknamed the Black Satellites, the team will fight for points with its counterpart from Gambia, Tanzania, as well as Morocco.

While coach Mattar M'Boge remains confident Gambia will sail out of the group stage into the knockout phase, he does not play down the strength of the Ghana U-20 team.

According to the gaffer, it is likely the Satellites could finish as group leaders.

“Ghana their history, the only champions in the U20 world cup in Africa they have that name and pedigree so there will be a pressure on them normally they will be favourites and as you already said they should qualify and if they don't then something must have gone wrong somewhere,” coach Mattar M'Boge told Ashh FM in an interview on Monday.

The coach added, “But football now is even now because there is no home advantage anymore and there tournament is being played in Mauritania we expect to have Gambia's supporters there and am not sure how many Ghanaians will travel to Mauritania but we will also have them so to me is an open tournament and I think also you have guarantee Ghana coming out and I also tip that may be the winner or one of the finalist will come out from this group.”
