2021 Ghana Premier League: Hearts coach Edward Odoom disappointed after draw against Ashanti Gold in league opener

Hearts of Oak coach Edward Nii Odoom says he's disappointed his side failed to secure all three points against Ashanti Gold SC in their Ghana Premier League opener on Tuesday night.

A brace each from Kwadwo Obeng Junior in the 32nd and 80th minutes and Hans Kwofie in the 56th and 90th minutes brought the curtains down on a game the Phobians should have wrapped up by the end of the opening stanza at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking after the game, coach Odoom expressed his dissatisfaction as he believes his lads should have 'killed this game in the first half'.

“I am very disappointed about the result. "Because this game is not a game of draw, we should have killed this game in the first half, even in the second half we created all the chances in the game," he said.

"I think a lack of concentration affected us, so I am very disappointed,” he added.

The draw was the 14th in as many as 59 meetings in the Ghana league between the two sides, with the Phobians winning 27 times and losing 18.

Hearts of Oak will face Inter Allies in their next league encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
