Dreams FC General Manager Ameenu Shardow has spoken out about the Ghana Premier League's headline sponsor, betPawa, saying that the clubs themselves are the best promoters of the league.

Although betPawa has committed around $1 million towards promoting the league, there have been complaints that its efforts are not having the desired effect.

Shardow believes that if there are funds available for promoting the league, they should be directed towards the clubs.

He argues that the clubs are the main drivers of promotion for the Premier League and that they should be given a chunk of the promotion funds to help with fan engagement.

The Ghana Premier League has been experiencing low fan attendance, with people questioning what the league promotion money is being used for.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM, Shardow said: "If it comes to the promotion and advertisement of the league, I believe strongly that the main proponent are the clubs so if there's any fund, it must be geared to the clubs.

"Further and better particulars that have emerged now say part of that money is being used as the locker room bonus, but if there's a fund for promotion, the clubs must enjoy a chunk of it in order to be able to do more of these fan engagements consistently."
