Ghana all set to welcome teams for WAFU U-17 tournament, says GFA Communications Director

Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has confirmed that Ghana is eagerly anticipating the arrival of the participating teams for the WAFU U-17 tournament today.

The competition, which Ghana is hosting, is scheduled to commence on May 15.

Niger, one of the participating teams, has already touched down in Ghana and engaged in a friendly match with the host nation. The match, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, concluded with a 2-0 victory for Ghana.

Twum also provided an update on the training venues for the tournament.

"We are looking forward today that is 10th of May to welcome all the remaining teams they have to be here five clear days to the competition to take them through all the necessary procedures," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"Thankfully we gave the stadium to Green Grass Technology to refurbish the pitch and other training facilities that too they have done a lot of work. As I said last time we have selected four venues Sarbah, University of Ghana, Athletic Oval, Achimota School Park these are training venues for the tournament.

"So the preparations we have gone far we are looking forward to 15th May to kick off. Group A there are three teams and Group B four teams,"
