2022/23 Ghana Premier League: Match Week 2 Preview - Samartex v Berekum Chelsea

FC Samartex will take on leaders Berekum Chelsea on match week two of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League as they go in search of their first ever win in the topflight.

The game is scheduled to kick at 3:00pm at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Monday.

The newly promoted side opened their campaign with a goalless against Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Coach Annor Walker’s side put up an impressive performance but it was not enough as they were held to a draw.

Berekum Chelsea defeated King Faial 2-0 to begin their campaign on a good note as they set sights on clinching the league title this season.

The Blues last won the trophy in 2010/2011 with three matches to spare, becoming the second Brong Ahafo side to win the topflight league after Aduana Stars had won it in the 2009/10 season.

Player to Watch: New Berekum Chelsea signing Mezack Afriyie scored in the Blues’ first goal of the season and has been charged to lead to the team to glory this term.

Predicted Scoreline: 0-2 Berekum Chelsea will be too strong for Samartex who are now beginning to find their feet in the topflight
