Samartex FC have finally have made it two wins in a row in the Ghana Premier League season after beating Karela United 2-1.
The club on Sunday afternoon welcomed Karela United for the final game before the Ghanaian top-flight league goes on break for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Keen on ending a long run of seven matches without a win, Samartex FC head coach Annor Walker named a strong starting eleven with instructions to fight to avoid conceding.
With players doing very well, Samartex FC had the lead at the end of the first half thanks to a strike from Seidu Abubakar in the 35th minute.
In the second half of many actions, both teams had a number of chances but neither side could get on the score sheet.
Eventually, Samartex FC held on to record a narrow victory which has become the team’s second win of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.
Thanks to the win, Samartex FC are out of the relegation zone of the league table.
