Samartex beat Legon Cities 2-1 in their match week 17 encounter which was played at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samreboi on Sunday afternoon.

Samartex started the game wonderfully they tried to score very early but Legon Cities remained solid at the back.

Legon Cities surged back into the game to control the midfield, however, they were ineffective in front of the goal.

Abubakar Seidu produced a fantastic goal in the sixty-third minute to give Samartex the lead after repeated attempts in the second half to break down Legon Cities' defense.

With nine minutes remaining in the game, Samartex's advantage was extended by Francis Oteng, increasing Samartex's chances of winning.

Legon Cities' Kofi Kordzi pulled one back to give them hope of at least leveling the scores, but the visitors couldn't find the equalizer.

Samartex is 12th on the league table with 23 points and Legon Cities is 15th with 21 points.

The Timber Giants will play RTU in their next game while Legon Cities will take on Medeama SC
