Kumasi Asante Kotoko suffered another season-denting defeat to Accra Great Olympics on Thursday afternoon at the WAFA Park in Sogakope in matchweek 28 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors couldn't build on their 2-1 win over league leaders Aduana FC over the weekend and conceded two second-half goals to lose 2-0 on the day.

The three points mean Great Olympics have moved out of the relegation zone to sit 14th with 35 points, while Asante Kotoko is still fifth despite the defeat with 42 points.

Great Olympics opened the scoring just 8 minutes into the game through a fantastic header from Michael Osei, who connected well with a left-sided cross.

30 minutes later, Emmanuel Akesseh doubled the lead for the hosts, helped by a poor save from goalkeeper Frederick Asare, who punched the ball onto his path.

There were no further goals in the second half, but Asante Kotoko couldn't find the needed goals to get back into the game.
