2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 29: Match Report – Hearts of Oak 2-0 King Faisal

Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways on Saturday evening in their match week 29 game against King Faisal. 

The Phobians beat the Insha Allah boys 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Richard Attah was named in post for the first time in the ongoing campaign. The goalkeeper started between the sticks as a replacement for the injured Eric Ofori Antwi.

Hearts of Oak started the game well and gained control of the midfield but they couldn't find the back of the net.

As the game headed to halftime King Faisal started pushing forward but the Hearts defense remained resolute.

The first half of the encounter under the floodlights ended goalless.

After the break Hearts of Oak made some changes Salifu Ibrahim replaced Gideon Asante. King Faisal was alert to stop a counter-attack from the home side in the 55th minute.

Substitute Salifu Ibrahim scored the first goal for Hearts of Oak in the 89th minute and Linda Mtange added the second goal in injury time.

Accra Hearts of Oak is 4th on the league table with 45 points and King Faisal is 11th with 36 points.

The Accra-based club will clash with FC Samartex in their next game while King Faisal will play Tamale City.
