2022/23 Ghana Premier League Week 4: Match Report – King Faisal 0-3 Asante Kotoko

The Kumasi Derby between Asante Kotoko and King Faisal ended 3-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday evening.

In the early exchanges, the Porcupine Warriors showed they are ready to take all three points. Steven Mukwala in the six minute received a ball from Richard Boadu but King Faisal's defenders were alert to stop him.

In the 11th minute Steven Mukwala pounced on a cross from Afoakwa to give his team the lead.

John Tedeku sent a delightful ball to Steven Mukwala to finish but the Ugandan was brought down in the box. Richard Boadu stepped up and scored to make it 2-0 in the 28th minute.

Asante Kotoko had total control of the game till the referee whistled for halftime.

After the break, goalscorer Steven Mukwala turned provider. He assisted Nicholas Mensah's goal in the 46th minute.

King Faisal dropped deep to prevent the Porcupine Warriors from doing more damage.

Asante Kotoko is currently 5th in the league with 7 points after three games while King Faisal is bottom with 0 points after four games.

King Faisal will play Gold Stars in their next Ghana Premier League game while Asante Kotoko will take on Bechem United.
