Published on: 11 November 2021

Black Stars of Ghana will be looking to beat Ethiopia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

The matchday five encounter will take place at the Orlando Stadium at 15:00Hrs GMT.

Ethiopia and Ghana have met in five matches dating back to 1963. The Black Stars have claimed four wins compared to one for the Walia Ibex, with zero games drawn.

Milovan Rajevac's side is hoping to make a return to the global showpiece after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia.

A win over Ethiopia and South Africa will guarantee Ghana a place in the play-offs.

Ghana are currently 2nd in Group G with nine points, one point behind leaders South Africa who will host Zimbabwe at FNB Stadium later today.

Ghana picked up back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe in October under returning coach Milovan Rajevac.

Black Stars will take on South Africa in the final group game of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
