2022 FIFA WCQ: I expect Nigeria to qualify ahead of Ghana - Ex-Super Eagles striker Akpoborie

Ex-Nigeria striker Jonathan Akpoborie says he expects the Super Eagles to beat Ghana and qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

The three-time African champions will be hosted at the Cape Coast Stadium for the first leg on March 25 before the return leg in Abuja on March 29.

The winner of both ties will represent Africa at the global showpiece.

"I am really excited with the list of invited players for the 2022 World Cup playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana. I am also delighted with the invitations of few fresh faces in the team and I think the selection of players has been spot on for Eguavoen," Akpoborie told Complete Sports.

"This clearly shows the coaches’ vision and plan for the game against Ghana and I am so happy with the first move with the list.

"I expect the team to qualify ahead of Ghana regardless of their antics against us."

Nigeria will open their training camp in the city of Abuja on March 21 before they travel to Cape Coast four days later to take on the Black Stars.
