2022 World Cup: Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be a threat to Ghana - Yaw Preko

Published on: 15 April 2022

A former Ghana international, Yaw Preko believes Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be a threat to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

Ghana after suffering a 2-1 defeat against Portugal during the 2014 Mundial in Brazil has been paired with the European country in Group H.

But according to Preko, the players around Cristiano Ronaldo are more dangerous than the Manchester United and Real Madrid legend and don’t see him as a threat.

“We shouldn’t underrate Portugal. I don’t see Ronaldo as a threat but the players around him”, the former Medeama SC gaffer told Graphic Sports.

“Since he came to Manchester United, you can see that physically and psychologically, he is not the same but the players around him are dangerous,” he added.

Ghana will face Portugal in their first game at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament on 24th November.

Uruguay and South Korea complete Group H.

Ghana will be hoping to up a superb performance having exited the group phase during their last appearance in Brazil.
