2022 World Cup qualifiers: South Africa eye playoffs spot ahead of Ghana in Group G

Published on: 09 November 2021

South Africa are aiming to secure qualification at the expense of Ghana to 2022 World Cup playoffs.

The Bafana Bafana currently sit top of Group G with 10 points and are being trailed by the West African powerhouse, Ghana, who has 9 points.

They will take on Zimbabwe on home turf on Thursday, November 11, 2021 before they travel to play the four-time African Champions at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

The Belgian trainer, Hugo Broos and his charges need just a win and a draw to book a place in the World Cup playoffs.

Broos has been instrumental towards the Bafana Bafana quest of qualifying to the World Cup after replacing Molefi Ntseki who failed to qualify the team to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations next year.

South Africa need to focus on getting the job done against Zimbabwe on Thursday, so that they can head to Ghana at the very least knowing a point will get them through as they hope to earn playoffs spot.
