2023/24 Ghana Premier League Week 1: Match Report – Samartex 1-0 Aduana Stars

Published on: 17 September 2023

Samartex beat Aduana Stars 1-0 in their first game of the season at Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samareboi on Sunday afternoon.

Samartex defeated the Aduana 1-0 at Samreboi to earn their first victory under new coach Nurudeen Amadu. The home side recorded a similar scoreline last season against Aduana.

In the 33rd minute, newly acquired Michael Ephson scored the game's only goal, making his Samartex debut a success.

Emmanuel Keyekeh, a midfielder, made a long pass to Baba Hamadu Musa, who expertly controlled it before chipping the ball in with a stunning effort that hit the post. Michael Ephson was alert to connect the rebound.

Aduana entered the second half as a much better team, but they were unable to score because their attackers couldn't bury the chances they created.

With no points, Aduana Stars return to Dormaa Ahenkro to get ready for their season-opening home game against champions Medeama SC.

The Timber Boys will travel to Kumasi to play newly promoted side Nations FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
