Legon Cities have beaten Accra Great Olympics 2-0 on Monday afternoon in match week 13 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

The win at the WAFA Park in Sogakope takes the Royals from 17th on the league log to 13th with 15 points from 13 games played.

The game is being played in Sogakope because the Accra Sports Stadium was closed to football clubs so the National Sports Authority can rent for festive season events.

It is the first win for Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin’s team in six games, where they have only drawn one game and lost the other four.

The game was a tense one that produced six yellow cards and three red cards.

Kwabena Boateng netted the opening goal of the game in the 57th minute to give Legon Cities a 1-0 lead.

In the 8th minute of added time, Joseph Mereku added a second to wrap up the game 2-0 in favour of the Royals.
