In a highly competitive Ghana Premier League week 14 clash, Samartex and Heart of Lions locked horns at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Sunday.

The Timber boys made their home advantage count after inflicting a 2-0 win over their opponent, courtesy Emmanuel Mamah and Evans Osei Wusu strikes.

Samartex have now moved summit of the league table following defeat to Aduana Stars and Nsoatreman FC respectively.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

Putting up a stellar performance, Samartex cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points on home turf.

Emmanuel Mamah wasted no time to break the deadlock after hitting the back of the net two minutes into the second half of the much-anticipated clash.

Samartex sealed victory through Evans Osei Wusu after founding the back of the net in the 78th minutes mark.

The Timber Boys has now recorded three consecutive wins in the Ghana Premier League. and with 26 points, they are now at the summit of the league table after 14 matches into the campaign.

Heart of Lions, who made a return to the top-flight after eight years absence are languishing bottom of the table with 8 points.
