Nations Football Club put up a top performance on Sunday night to hand Asante Kotoko a 1-0 defeat in the Ghana Premier League.

The two Ashanti Region-based clubs locked horns today in a Week 23 encounter of the 2023/24 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

In a game played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko set up strong in hopes of ending a three-game winless streak.

In that period, the Porcupine Warriors had lost to Karela United, Accra Lions, and Aduana Stars.

Despite fighting to end that run in the game against Nations FC, things didn’t go according to plan.

The visitors equalized in the 43rd minute through Asamoah Boateng Afriyie to bag all three points.

With Asante Kotoko failing to win today, the team has now suffered four consecutive defeats in the Ghana Premier League.

The poor run has seen the team dropping out of the Ghana Premier League standings.

Meanwhile, Nations FC have moved to second on the league table, trailing the team at the summit by just two points.
