2023/24 Ghana Premier League week 3: RTU fight back to draw at home against Heart of Lions

Real Tamale United (RTU) had to fight back to draw 2-2 against Heart of Lions on Sunday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in match week three of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

The draw means the home side are 7th on the table with four while Heart of Lions, who have now drawn all their three matches, are 13th.

Real Tamale United took the lead just five minutes into the game when Owusu Afriyie scored his second goal of the season.

The visitors levelled the score in first half stoppage time through Ebenezer Abban’s goal to end the first half 1-1.

Back in the second half, Heart of Lions took the lead through Asante Seedorf Afful in the 75th minute to stun the home crowd.

The Northern Blues found the equaliser four minutes later through Abdul Fatawu Sayibu’s goal. There were no further goals as the game ended 2-2 in Tamale.

Real Tamale United will play as guests to Bibiani Gold Stars in match week four of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League on Sunday October 8.

For Heart of Lions, they will host fellow returnees Bofoakwa Tano who are having a dream start to the season also on Sunday.
